Bridge Construction Mats
A bridge is a structure built to span physical obstacles such as a body of water, valley, or road, for the purpose of providing passage over the obstacle. Designs of bridges vary depending on the function of the bridge, the nature of the terrain where the bridge is constructed, the material used to make it and the funds available to build it. Some different types of bridges include vehicular bridges, pedestrian bridges, railroad bridges, military bridges, beam bridges, moveable bridges, heavy haul bridges, and shoring and superprops.
Before the bridge is ever built, it is being shaped by building trends generally derive from a continually shifting balance between structural design, material capabilities and construction technologies. Matting plays a part in the bridge building process. Matting is used to create solid foundations for cranes and equipment as well as safe work areas. It is also commonly used to create bridge trestles where cranes and equipment can work suspended in the air as an area to build off of.
